In terms of responsible innovation, the following information should be highlighted:

  • FaRInn project (2012-2014) – Facilitating Responsible Innovation in South East Europe (www.farinn.eu): the aim of the project was to introduce responsible innovation concept to South-East European countries. In the project the University of Szeged and Miklos Lukovics himself was the coordinator of workpackage 3 which was designed to elaborate the whole theoretical background of the project in terms of responsible innovation. Furthermore, in the 4th workpackage a dissemination plan was developed to propagate responsible innovation concept in the surrounding area and the project team was able to integrate RI-related policy goals to the county’s development plan.
  • Based on the project mentioned above, we have special expertise in the specialities of RRI in South-East European Countries.
  • The University of Szeged and Miklos Lukovics played a pioneer, dominant role in the dissemination of RRI principles in a lagging behind region in Hungary. We organized a network of stakeholders and started to introduce the notion of RRI into the public knowledge in our region.
  • As members of the strategic advisory board of the regional planning we achieved that the Responsible Innovation is named now in the Operational Program of Csongrád County in Hungary. This is the first operational program in Hungary, where RRI is mentioned!
  • We organized the first RRI events in Hungary.
  • We are on building in capacities in our Doctoral School of Economics to a PhD topic on responsible innovation
  • We organized and helped our colleagues to find the linkages between their own research area and RRI, and based on that we edited book on responsible innovation: Norbert Buzás, Miklós Lukovics (eds.): Responsible Innovation, University of Szeged, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Szeged, 2014, ISBN: 978-963-306-292-0
