The Miguel Sánchez-Mazas Chair (CMSM) at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) was established in 2000 with the aim of researching and intervening on the science, technology, innovation, society axis in its historical, philosophical, societal and political dimensions. Its work is oriented both through theoretical and empirical studies aimed at Scientific and Tecnological Development in its Societal Context, Science and Technology Assessment, Social Perception on Science, Technology and Innovation, and Socio-technical Integration in Science and Technology Policy. CMSM leads the education program GAZE founded in 2008, aimed at promoting responsible research among students of Basque universities and funded by the regional government. A. Ibarra is the Program Director.


VIRI Leader Andoni Ibarra is director of the Miguel Sánchez-Mazas Chair at the University of the Basque Country.
