Eastern European RRI: Territorial Differences & Economic Background

In recent years, Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) has gained credibility in the European Union’s development policy. Several EU commission reports highlighted RRI during the 2014-2020 programming period. RRI is also a priority in Horizon2020 and other EU initiatives designed to move RRI theory into practice.

Because most of the scientific works and projects in connection with RRI focus on developed countries, the validity of their statements is limited for countries lagging behind. The group of South-East European countries, which have a large number of special conditions, are approaching RRI from a different perspective.
