Linda Hogle, Ph.D., is the Director of the Holtz Center for Science
and Technology and an Associate Professor in the Department of Medical
History and Bioethics at the University of Wisconsin. An anthropologist
who studies emerging medical technologies, her current research focuses on
ethical and social issues in tissue engineering, stem cell research,
enhancement medicine and assistive technologies. For work related to TSHS,
she is studying the shifts in kinds of evidence being used for novel
products (hybrid tissue-synthetic products, nanotechnology) for regulatory
and clinical purposes. She also has an interest in emergent forms of
interdisciplinary knowledge in biomedical engineering.
